Day Eight/Nine
OK, so I kind of got sick and didn’t feel like finishing the Seattle chronicling. The last two days are a little fuzzy to me now. I think we went out to breakfast somewhere. I know we strolled down to the Aboretum again at some point. I know we went out for pho at Than Bros. again (mmmmmmmmmmm) and took a lot of crazy pictures with Emily’s camera. We ended up a little playground near Broadway and played some basketball (as much as our pathetic endurance levels would allow) and played on the monkey bars and such. Learned some new card games with Serene later that night, my favorite being Ninety Eight. And before we knew it, it was the next morning, and time to leave.
Tried to meet up with my sister for breakfast in Portland, but the timing just didn’t work out. Next time.
The drive was kind of grueling. Hot, uneventful, and long. It always seems longer coming back from somewhere. On the way up, we had days and days of just hanging out to look forward to, but this time, we were driving back to roommate drama, jobs, rent, obligations, etc etc etc. We were also pretty tired out from the past few days of Seattle partying, which made it even more difficult. I ended up taking the wheel through most of California, after switching off with Serene through Washington and Oregon. There’s this level of determination that you get when you’re in the last stretch of the drive where you don’t want to switch drivers because it would be like letting the road win, and you can’t let that happen.
Anyways. Back in California on Tuesday night. Back at work fighting off a wicked head cold for the past few days. And I left my iPod charger in Seattle. Fuck me.
And that pretty much wraps that one up. Tune in next time for more of the usual.
Oh, and P.S.: Joey has some pictures up at his site now. Enjoy.
More later.
