Another Year…

Somebody had a birthday party last night! Hung out at Reed’s house for his 24th, with Emily and Joey and Nicole (who I finally met!) and Aaron and Jenny and Jack and Roy and Rachel and Ryan and Devon (two guys from Reed’s work). Nicole’s really nice, I like her. She brought kazoos for everybody to play “Happy Birthday” on, and she makes a kick-ass carrot cake. Reed made some damn fine calamari too.

After the festivities died down, a few of us went over to A’roma’s for a bit. There was a folk singer playing and getting no appreciation from the audience (including us). I felt kind of sorry for her, having been there myself at times…I remember my old ska band playing Monday night shows in the old downtown dive the Moonlight, with an audience of two drunks, for no pay. Those were the days, I tell you.

I need to start a band again. Me and Joey and Michelle need to get some practice space and hook that shit up, yo. I don’t know if Michelle is still interested in being in a band, but that would be my ideal. Otherwise, me and Joey might have to hunt someone down, and have me fill in on drums, maybe. Reed’s planning on doing some travelling again, from what I hear, so that’s why I’m not speculating on him being a part of this…but hey, maybe he can. That would be awesome too. My ideal band setup would be 1 guitar, bass, drums, and laptop, with at least two singers. Hmmm….time to plan.

More later…
